Costa Rica Trip 2: Day 2
Today was great! We started off by waking up and eating breakfast. I wasn’t a huge fan of the breakfast but the bread is so good I just ate a lot of that.
When we made it to the project. Jason showed us around. It was incredible to see all of the changes. The playground we helped tear down last year is completely new and has a roof over it. The soccer stadium they’ve been building now has a paved court and looks great.
Church was good, but long. Haha. The service was about 3 hours and that’s typical. Once church was over we changed out of our church clothes and prepared to meet and play with the kids. At first when Sol came out I was way too nervous to say anything to her, but she soon saw me, grabbed my hand, and showed me off to all of her friends. She remembers me and I can’t be more thankful. We walked around, jumped, danced, and laughed a lot. I showed her some pictures I had of her from last year and she thought it was hilarious. We had amazing pizza with the kids and played with them a little longer.
Once it was time to go I said goodbye to Sol and we headed off to the market. Lindsey and I buddied up at the market and haggled many sellers. I bought a Madrid jersey and she bought a Madrid, a Bimbo, and a Costa Rica jersey. Naomi was not so good at haggling, but that’s okay haha. She got several things that she wanted so that was awesome.
After the market we headed back to Franco’s. We unpacked our supply luggage and prepared suitcases full of gifts for Jason, Kerby, and their baby. We also organized the supplies we will need for Kids Ministry into the suitcases for each days lessons. After a good meal we met to watch Jason and Kerby unwrap their gifts, talk about the day, laugh, encourage, and cry at the beautiful impacts several people have already made.
Tonight we honored Kim, Rebecca, and Mousy. There was not a dry eye during Mousy’s moment and his testimony showed us all what a true man of God, a real father, and a wonderful leader looks like. I’m honored already to share a room with him and be working beside him.
Tomorrow we will be up bright and early to work. We will be painting the host homes, digging foundation, and teaching the orphans about creation and how much we need God. Please pray that we are able to lead strong, encourage one another, and make a difference here. Please pray for Cyndi Reed as she tells the 0-4 Year Olds about all the things God has made. Please pray for Eleas as she dances and leads worship for them. Please pray for Crystal as she tells the 5-11 Year olds about the separation that exists between us and God because of sin, but the promise that can break it.
We have a wonderful team here and I’m so proud of all of them and I know all of the families of these servants are too. Thanks so much for all of your prayers and support. Until tomorrow.

So glad you guys are having fun and that you have already experienced God in such an amazing way. We continue praying for you and that God will use you all in a great way.
but as long as she doesn’t leave all her money on the table that’s ok
I’m not surprised that Naomi didn’t haggle with the people – she’s my daughter after all. I guess she feels like she’d be robbing them of their sustenance
We missed you guys today but all in all it was a great day at Grace.
Please say hi to Naomi for me and I’m looking forward to hearing more from Costa Rica.
So excited Sol recognized you, but I am not surprised. Vanna and Benton leave for their mission trip to Guatemala on Friday. We are praying for you!
